BOARD MEETING MINUTES
WEKIVA GOLF VILLAS HOMEOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION
SEPTEMBER 10, 2013
A board meeting of the Wekiva Golf Villas Homeowners’ Association took place on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the WGVHA pool on Albrighton Court, Longwood, Florida.
Steve Tretter, Vice President, called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Also in attendance were Elaine Curran, Kirk Kief, Wendy Kief and Rebecca Viola.
Agenda for the evening was to appoint Board Member positions in light of recent resignation of Shawn Fourez, President.
Shawn Fourez resigned as President of Wekiva Golf Villas Homeowners’ Association. Pursuant to the Bylaws of the Association and by unanimous agreement of the Board Members present, Steve Tretter was appointed as President.
Upon Steve taking position as President, a vacancy at the Vice President position is created. Steve nominated Kirk Kief, current Board Member, to fill the position of Vice President. Elaine seconds and the motion carriers. Kirk is Vice President.
Steve would like to start solicitation of new board members now. Elaine’s term runs February 2015. Bonnie Tretter may be willing to serve in 2015.
Wendy will consider being board member in at large position. Kons may consider serving as well. Michael Barina may also consider serving.
Steve readdresses the situation with the removal of the grill and added costs associated with pool maintenance. Steve would like to see no grills allowed or removal when done. Elaine suggests sign.
Steve addresses new signage for removal of trash by party goers. Trash not picked up at this address based upon tax roll.
Also need for new sign on building and a secure cork board.
Landscapers contacted about tree trimming but no response as of yet. Landscapers didn’t coordinate for setting timers in accordance with our request. Steve will follow up regarding timer and tree trimming as part of routine maintenance.
Pavilion edge slippery. Thresholds painted and not splatter coated. Beam is cracking underneath. He said we didn’t need caulked joint at bottom and now says he will charge extra to put it back. Losing coating at seams hat he says is not warranties. Says result of normal expansion and contraction.
Steve questions whether we pursue legal action thru attorney. Kirk suggests we bite the bullet and get reputable contractor to fix it versus legal action. Steve points out contractors may not want to come in and clean it up after bulk of moneys paid to another.
Steve recommends we have Barry go ahead and pressure wash under side of pavilion, backs of chair and spot clean deck. It’s agreed among all to have it done in 2013.
Steve brings up high efficiency pool pump that would recoup cost in 3-5 years. LED lighting still at issue. It is agreed that these topics will be tabled to a later date.
Meeting is adjourned at 8:07 p.m.
