BOARD MEETING MINUTES
WEKIVA GOLF VILLAS HOMEOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION
November 22, 2011
A board meeting of the Wekiva Golf Villas Homeowners’ Association took place on November 22, 2011, at the WGVHA community pool.
Steve Tretter, President, called the meeting to order at 7:07pm. Also in attendance were Elaine Curran, Andy Williams, and Shawn Fourez. Resident and webmaster, John Carter, also attended and contributed.
The meeting minutes from May 31, 2011 and August 9, 2011 were approved.
Mr. Tretter discussed the issue of the cleaning service not doing a thorough job of cleaning the chairs and lounges. The contract will be reviewed and followup will be done to ensure all cleaning is done according to contract going forward.
We discussed the difference between a cool deck and an alternative surface such as pavers for the pool area. We acknowledged John Ewseychik’s preference for pavers. Various vendors have indicated that pavers are not ideal for laying on the current concrete surface. The pavers may hold the heat which can make it uncomfortable for bare feet. Water will also not drain through the concrete underneath and it will push the necessary sand out from under the pavers which will shift the pavers over time. There is also a concern about the visual look of the pavers meeting the raised edge of the pool. The largest objection to pavers is the high cost. Shawn Fourez moves to eliminate pavers as an option and focus on acrylic surface quotes only. Andy seconds the motion and all agree. The current quotes for acrylic surface are reviewed. Steve will receive one final quote from a vendor by the name of Sundek. The options will then be presented at the Annual Meeting for a decision to be made.
All in attendance reviewed the proposed 2012 budget presented by Elaine Curran. Andy Williams makes a motion to approve. Shawn seconds. Approved unanimously.
The date of the annual meeting is discussed and Monday, January 16th is set as a tentative date. Steve Tretter will check the availability of a meeting place and the attorney on this potential date.
